SLA Resin Engine Test Plan - 2021

Ryerson Propulsion Group prepared a small-scale, 3D-printed resin engine test program in 2021. The surviving archive documents the proposed hardware and procedure, but it does not verify that the engine was fired.

Proposed configuration

The October 10 test SOP specified an SLA resin engine supplied with gaseous propane and compressed air. A hobby rocket motor was to serve as the igniter, and the expected chamber pressure was 150 psi. The procedure called for controlled propellant timing and recorded test data.

Recorded status

The September 16 Combustion Dynamics presentation proposed testing on September 25 or 26, but said the engines still had to be printed and that the venue and final parts were not secured. The later SOP contains no completed acceptance or results entries. The 2022 initial design proposal discusses the small SLA engines but does not list a firing among completed work.

The Resin Rocket Drive folder contains CAD, analysis and bill-of-materials files. No firing video, telemetry file, completed result sheet or corroborating Discord result was found. This timeline therefore records the program as a plan, not a completed engine test.
