SPRINT Hot Fire Test - August 22nd, 2025
SPRINT completed its first hot fire at Launch Canada on Friday, August 22nd, at approximately 11:25 a.m. The engine reached ignition and commanded cutoff.
Attempt Sequence
The first Thursday attempt cold-flowed the system because the ignition detector's thrust threshold was set above the igniter's output.
The second attempt failed because the tank-mount turnbuckle physically blocked the fuel bulkhead servo-valve handle. Oxidizer flowed but fuel did not. The remaining fuel stayed in the tank overnight. The ignition logic was revised to use chamber pressure as well as thrust. The team returned at approximately 6:45 a.m. for the Friday attempt.
Result and Data Limit
The August 22 run used a partial propellant fill. The team later attributed the partial fill to the piston covering part of the static vent. No usable telemetry was recovered, so the observed reduction in performance cannot be stated as a measured pressure or thrust result.
