GAR-E Igniter-Housing Material Test - December 15th, 2022

During GAR-E igniter development, the team exposed clear SLA-printed resin samples to direct flame and an APCP G-motor grain segment.

Result

The follow-up design record set a minimum wall thickness of 1.5 mm for the printed igniter housing. The trial addressed short-duration material survival only; it did not fire a complete igniter or test housing ejection, chamber ignition or instrumentation.
